Daily Operations

Dry, load, and protect the filament path

Keep one dry spool in the DryBox and a smooth PTFE path.

  1. Dry new or suspect spools

    Dry each new spool for 6 hours at 60 C before production, then let it cool for 4 hours before printing. Re-dry stored spools only when needed, at most once per week.

  2. Keep one dry spool in the DryBox

    Keep only one spool inside and keep DryBox humidity below 20 percent.

  3. Use heat and desiccant together

    Desiccant maintains low humidity between drying cycles. It does not replace the 6-hour, 60 C drying cycle, and active heat should not run while printing.

  4. Prepare the filament before loading

    Cut the tip diagonally. Preheat before load or unload. Pull TPU out while it is still warm.

  5. Protect the feed path

    Keep the PTFE path smooth. Avoid crushed tubing, hard bends, and unapproved material.

Before you finish

  • The spool has completed the 6-hour, 60 C drying cycle and cooled for 4 hours if it is new or suspected to be humid.
  • The DryBox humidity is below 20 percent.
  • Only one spool is inside the DryBox.
  • Active DryBox heat is off while printing.
  • The filament tip is prepared correctly.
  • The load or unload was done hot enough.
  • The PTFE path stays smooth and uncrushed.
  • The spool in use is approved Podform3D FilaForm.
